a. Marking lines for holes
Mark drilling lines using a Carpenter’s Pencil for the front, back and edge sides of the door and the doorjamb according to Fig.1:
- Front : Confirm the installation height for the door lock— handle should be located 90cm above the floor. Mark drilling lines. (Note: For door lock re-installation, please refer to the installation height of the original handle instead).
- Back : Similar to the drilling line marking workflow of the front side.
- Edge : Mark a central spot for the 'center line of latch' and score the rest of drilling lines.
- Doorjamb : Mark drilling lines on the doorjamb according to the relative position of the already installed lock-core (mortise lock). Pay attention to the relative lock-core height.
b. Drilling
Mark drilling lines using a Carpenter’s Pencil for the front, back and edge sides of the door and the doorjamb according to Fig.1:
- Front and back : Drill through front and back sides of the door according to the marked lines.
Note: Avoid splintering out of the door face and splitting when drilling holes, you had better to score the pencil line with a Stanley Knife and cut the wooden fiber.
- Edge : Drill edge holes according to the marked lines.
Note: Edge of the door lock is the most critical part in the whole drilling process; extra care must be taken to avoid splintering out of the door face and splitting. Check the drilled hole by trial fit the lock-core. Please adjust the dimension of the hole if there is a need.
- Doorjamb : Mark drilling lines on the doorjamb according to the relative position of the already installed lock-core (mortise lock). Pay attention to the relative lock-core height.

Before installation, ensure all door lock components are in the package and suiting the direction of your door hinge. Test the functionality of the lock-core and PCB with batteries.
-
Lock-core installation: Position the lock-core into the wooden door. Put the wire end in the interior of the door. The dimension of all holes should be checked right.
-
Mechanical cylinder installation: Fix the cylinder to the lock-core with screws. Test if the mechanical keys can unlock the door or not.
-
Front plate installation: Insert the large rectangular shaft to the hole of the lock-core and the front plate. Install the front plate to the door. ( Note: Please handle the PCB with care, otherwise you may damage it and broken the delicate connection wire. )
Back plate installation: Similar to the front plate installation. Tighten the back plate to the door with screws. ( Note: Before installation, make sure that the back plate is parallel to the door.)
-
Battery box installation:Insert battery box with batteries into suitable position. Test and open the lock with a door opening card.
-
Armor front plate installation:Tighten the armor front plate onto the lock-core (edge of door) with screws. Install plastic strike box and strike plate onto the doorjamb.
